Mai-Anh Vu

Postdoctoral Researcher

Mai-Anh joined the Howe Lab as a postdoc in the fall of 2018. She received her B.A. in Cognitive Science from Yale, and Ph.D. in Neurobiology from Duke. There, in the labs of Alison Adcock and Kafui Dzirasa, she used interdisciplinary, cross-species, cognitive and systems neuroscience approaches to study functional neural circuits underlying anticipation and motivation. Here in the Howe Lab, Mai-Anh is using optical methods like fiber photometry to investigate how the spatiotemporal dynamics of dopaminergic signaling in the striatum support various cognitive and behavioral processes. Outside of lab, Mai-Anh likes to hang out with friends and cycle through various hobbies like playing the piano, climbing rocks, or working on random craft projects.
