Zicheng (Alice) Zhang

Alice joined the Howe lab as a neurobiology PhD student in 2019. She was born in Shanghai, China, and received a B.S. degree in Life Science from ShanghaiTech University. As an undergraduate student, Alice participated in two study-abroad programs at UC Berkeley and the University of Padua. During her undergraduate degree at ShanghaiTech, she worked in Yang Yang’s lab, where she explored the synaptic plasticity underlying learning and memory using in vivo two-photon microscopy. In the Howe lab, Alice is interested in studying the dynamic of basal ganglia circuits and advancing new photonics technologies. Outside of lab, she is a dancer, taekwondo martial artist, flute player, and a big fan of Boba milk tea.
